The Land of Bygone Times- vintage glassware scavanging

Today my boyfriend and I took a lovely Sunday trip to a fantastic place called Bygone Times.
Bygone Times is an antiques and collectables centre in Chorley a la North West which used to be an old cotton mill. the building is enchanting, although it is run down in parts this just adds to the enchantment. Inside there are literally hundreds of stalls selling unique pieces from beautiful Victorian furniture to old brass Teapots. It also inhabits a small penny arcade area, and a World War 2 exhibit which are both defo worth a wonder round.

It is easily one of my most fave places to visit near to where I live. We usually go for a wonder and a toot and have only ever purchased one thing from there, which was a Football programme for a Wigan V Everton match that happened to be our first date (part 1 anyways)

Today we had planned to go and spend I bit of moulah on.......vintage glassware. How follow the trend of me! I do so love anything vintage coloured and beautiful. Even though there were so many gorgeous items I needed wanted I went with a £40 budget and promised myself I would spend no more!! I also told myself that this was to only go on glassware. This proved to be difficult as the vintage grammar phone (£120) and the lovely Telephone table (£38) where screaming at me to buy them. Alas my sensible side prevailed and glassware was all I procured.

I am EXTREMELY pleased with my cutie little finds!|....even more so with the price!

The place housed a serious amount of Decanters each one special in there own way. By the time i had reached the end of the stalls, I had about ten to chose from. there was a pink one for ten pounds but it looked a little worn so i opted for the one below. I went for this one because it wasn't too large and i rather enjoy the shape ( a little different from most of the other cubey ones) Plus my Boy informs me that the bigger the surface area in a decanter the better, so as to let the alcohol air..... i think that's what he said anyhoo :x

crystal £2

I looked in every nook and cranny for some pretty coloured glasses and was a wee bit disappointed in lack there of. i did manage to seek out a few though most of which were green haha the ones that were not ugly, i bought :)

The green and brown ones were 20p each and the one with the pink bits was £1

I also really really really wanted a bon bon dish as they are named on eBay and saw loads. All ranging in price from £12-£25. i didn't want to pay that much for one so accepted the fact that i wouldn't get one....UNTIL....... this beauty caught my attention! it makes my heart sparkle with delight and i am soooo happy that i gots me a pink one! woop woop! for the price, i would have got two but it was a unique item.

£1.50

All in all i am more than satisfied with my trip to Bygone times. I came away with exactly what i wanted at a fraction of the cost i was prepared to spend. Result! if you are from the area or are visiting, it is so worth a trip. There is guaranteed to be some lovely lovelies that will pull on your heart strings
